As a result, the complex nature of the nine is associated with thought waves, apparitions, wraiths, mists, clouds, obscurity, exile, and mystery.
The Eleusinian mysteries, refer to the nine with a similar view, claiming that nine is the number of dimensions of consciousness we must pass through when we are born and when we die. Initiates in this secret of all mystery schools lead fulfilling lives and are not afraid of death.
In astrology, the nine corresponds to the planet Mars. It shows the danger of being foolhardy and acting impulsively. Ill-thought-of words and actions can lead to quarrels and strife – and even accidents.
On the flip side, the positive aspect of Mars is its unfaltering resourcefulness and capacity for organization.
From a spiritual standpoint, it is also on this level that your energy will raise to a higher vibration, or slip into a lower vibration if the energy you put in was negative.
The nine, therefore, challenges you to recognise your attributes and teach them to others. One of your goals in life should be to offer your knowledge and be an influence to others.
The nine appears continuously in ancient myth and almost always signifies the final end to something. Homer used it consistently in his writings; The Trojan War lasted nine years, Odysseus returned home after nine years of travelling, the nine days plague, nine feasts and the nine days for the flood to wash away the Achaean camp are among some of the others.
Madame Helena Blavatsky, founder of the Theosophical Society that helped bring a lot of esoteric information relating to ancient mystery schools to the public conscience said, the nine “is constantly reproduced in all aspects and at all times total. The nine is the sign a cycle is complete.
In Greek mythology, the number 9 was consecrated in the Sphere of the Muses as the symbol of versatility, of change, and the emblem of the frailty of human affairs.
The symbolic meaning of the number nine, therefore, represents the final end of a cycle of life which can often bring about a change of circumstances or change your outlook on life and prompt you into changing your lifestyle. This is a typical result for initiates pursuing self-development goals.
Whether the results of the nine are good or bad will depend on whether the energy you put in has been positive or negative.
The symbolic meaning of eight was prevalent in ancient cultures as they devoutly believed in reincarnation. The ancient Egyptians believed the eight has no significance in this life, but the energy will be taken with you into the next life. However, that determines on your project and the reason why you need inspiration from the eight.
The eight is an indication that you can achieve greater success through dogged determination and ambition. The eight is often associated with business success and authority for this reason, as successful companies and individuals continually strive to improve themselves and their standing in life.
The eight is typically represented by an eight-pointed star or octagon in religion. Sacred numbers are always built into the architecture of religious buildings so you often find eight pillars or arches for example.
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus delivered eight Beatitudes, virtues that if followed ultimately lead to reward. However, as the Pharaohs believed, the eight beatitudes promise salvation in the next life rather than this.
Scholars believe the eight-pointed star originated in Sumeria. It is associated with the goddess Ianna, who would later become the Babylonian goddess, Ishtar, the light bringer.
Ishtar is the Divine Mother, the opener of the womb and light bringer to the world. We see her repeated through history as Isis, Hera, and Juno. We also find symbolism associated with Ishtar in the Statue of Liberty and the Olympic Torch.
Eight appears in Buddhism and Chinese traditions as balance and harmony of the cosmic order whereas the Pythagoreans of ancient Greece expressed the eight as organs of knowledge; fantasy, sense, art, opinion, wisdom, science, and mind.
We can, therefore, consider Thoth as the judge and examiner who decides whether or not you have passed the lessons presented before you in stages one to seven. If you have earned the right to pass through the ninth level, the awards ceremony, before the satisfaction of completing your goal and returning to zero to start the next phase. Of course, you can also fail your tests and return to zero to start over again.
In ancient Greece, eight was given to Dionysus, born in August. Known as Bacchus in Roman mythology this God of agriculture and fertility of nature, like the fermenting process of wine the part God is often depicted with.
Curiously, the number eight is also associated with Hermes – who is also connected with the number one and the number four. So why is Hermes connected with three numbers?

When you see eights repeating in patterns, it signals you have reached understanding of you goal and must choose whether to continue or remain at the seven. If you have knowledge and inner-understanding, your role as an eight is to pass this information on to others.
If the eight appears in relation to your career or a relationship, it is a sign to continue along the same path because you are heading in the right direction.
Starting from the moment you have the initial thought or occurrence, energy is present. The Law of Thermodynamics determines that energy does not die, it transmutes.
Given thoughts are energy, it stands to reason that thoughts must become things.

In esoteric symbolism, the zero, or the circle, is used to identify the point at which the potential of energy originates from. To the ancient traditions of the Kabbalah, the zero-point is called Ain Soph. In Hindu traditions, it is known as Brahman which in return is symbolised by the Aum (Om) symbol, the “sound of creation”.
The question you should be asking yourself is whether you are transforming energy from a lower state of conscious or a higher state.
How well do you know your own mind?
Ancient cultures assigned the zero to mean the completion of a cycle. They said energy comes from nothingness and returns to its source whereupon it evolves into its next state.
The deeper, esoteric meaning of zero denotes the evolution of your conscious awareness. From a state of potential, you can achieve great things, mediocre experiences, “bad luck” or a complete disaster.
This idea of nothingness became known as the “God-Force,” the spirit of life that is everywhere and in everything.
From a scientific perspective, energy is everywhere and in everything. Moreover, energy appears to be guided by a higher intelligence. In my opinion, this intelligence is the “God-Force.”
“There is One Existence, a Life, a Consciousness unlimited, intelligent, and universal. This Existence is everything – everything without exception; in it, everything has being, not only actualities – a universe that is – but also possibilities – all universes that may be. This Existence contains all; all services from it, all returns to it.” ~ Annie Besant, Giordano Bruno
Just as the ancients revealed spirit returns to its source, psychology finds that thoughts and ideas come from the subconscious and create habitual programs.
When we consistently perform the same actions, we transform the same energy and experience the same reality.

In the Tarot deck, the very first card is The Fool. This card is assigned the number zero.
The Fool implies the individual is about to embark on a new journey, stepping out into the unknown. It is the point of true beginnings, the start of the path you take to reach your final goal.
As you can see from the image, the Fool is perilously close to the edge of a ravine and appears as though he will step off because he is not paying attention to himself or his surroundings.
In other words, he is not connected in the outer-world because he is not connected to his inner-world.
This is the fine line between success and failure. You have the option to expand your conscious awareness or remain in base consciousness and transform the same energies.
The key point here is that expanding conscious awareness will deliver more successes than failures.
Ancient philosophies reveal the circular pattern of the zero represents evolution and completion.
In the modern numerological system, once the numbers 1 to 9 is exhausted, we revert to 10 which is the 1 and 0 together, showing that as one cycle of life ends another begins.
Zero, therefore, is a triumph of learning, dropping the ego and becoming free of limitations in the material world.
Otherwise, it means you are starting a new cycle of life at the end of which you will probably have made the same mistakes and experience the same reality.
When you notice the repetition of zero in your life, pay attention to your thoughts around the time you see ones, two and threes appear. Because they will appear – and they have a message especially for you.
In numerology, the number six indicates a balanced personality. People who predominantly display features of the six are responsible, idealist, caring, unselfish, teachers, protectors, charitable and have emotional depth.
The negative aspect of the six is that you are disconnected, hypocritical, weak, shallow, submissive, restless and easily stressed.
People who have too much energy from the six are pulled in different directions by others to the point they are continually giving and being distracted from what they really want to be doing, or should be doing.
In esoteric teachings, the symbolic meaning of six is often represented by the hexagon, sometimes formed by two overlapping triangles as we see in the Star of David and Seal of Solomon.
Taken at face value that doesn’t really mean anything. When you understand the esoteric meaning of the Star of David and thus the six, you can appreciate the “divine union” actually means the integration of unconscious content into the conscious mind.
The male is symbolised by the upward-facing triangle and represents the conscious mind. The unconscious mind is the down-facing triangle.
The six is, therefore, denoted when split-off consciousness crosses over from the darkness of the unconscious into the light of the conscious mind – the joining together of two opposites.

The Bible reflects the same principles given in numerology. The symbolic meaning of six in Christianity represents human weakness, someone who is not able to overcome temptations. In the creation story, man was created on the sixth day.
The six is base consciousness and only by transcending to the seven will you gain a better understanding of life, improve your personality or work with the laws of nature.
The number of the beast – 666 – represents the point when a man is enslaved by his basic nature in body, mind and soul. 666, therefore, represents the animal nature of man when we enter the physical plane.

Like in many eastern religions the purpose in life is to liberate the mind whereby you will transcend from base consciousness to higher consciousness.
When sixes continually appears in your life, you have to find a way to balance your time and your emotions. You need the strength to say no and not take on too many responsibilities that burden you despite your innate intuition to help and serve others.
The esoteric meaning of the six relates to self-awareness.
Sometimes, the sixes will be an indication that you need to allow the contents of your unconscious into your conscious mind. Observe your thoughts and feelings and ask yourself whether a repressed emotion is trying to break free. The qualities we need to develop are always in the unconscious.
If you do not take time out to care for your own needs, try to improve your character traits and resist temptation, you cannot move into a state of self-awareness that leads you along the path to the higher self.
Built in 1958, by a Hindu-Buddhist monk, Luang Pu Bunleua Sulitat, Buddha Park is a fascinating insight to esoteric symbolism. Here I will glide over some of the highlights, but you will find more in my book Journey’s To Ancient Worlds: The Search For Truth which will be published later this year.
To get to Buddha Park, take the number 14 bus from opposite the international bus station. Walk along Khu Vieng Road past the food stalls and taxi touts that will tell you there is no bus to Buddha Park and turn right.
The journey takes around 1 hour. Tell the driver where you want to go and he will stop for you. The trip will take a good half-day, and there is a café where you can get food and drink.
Below is an insight into what some of the symbolism means – just to make your day out that little bit more interesting!
To your right, as you walk through the entrance to Buddha Park, you cannot escape noticing a giant stone dome. You can go inside the dome and climb to the open platform on the roof where you will get a great vantage place to take some photographs.
The entrance to the dome is a demon’s mouth. This is most likely Raktabija and represents the dark side of our subconscious mind. The demon within us if you like, the voice that makes demands for cravings and desires that we often give into even though we know we shouldn’t.
In Hindu mythology, Raktabija is a powerful demon that features in the Devi Mahatmya. The demon reaps havoc on the Earth and is confronted by the Goddess Ambika and eight Matrikas.
They attack Raktabija, but each time they insert their swords, the drops of blood that fall from the demon’s body spawn more demons.
The Gods send Durga, sometimes known as Kali, to kill Raktabija. She is the female energy of Shiva and has the power to destroy demons – or from a psychological point of view, sinful thoughts and actions.
Outside the dome, just to the left of the entrance, there is a statue of Shiva and Durga marking their inclusion in the story.
Rakhtbeej is an incredibly powerful demon who has the special ability that every drop of his blood which falls on the ground creates a clone of himself which also joins the battle!
The devas manage to wound him multiple times which leads to millions of his clones being created as his blood falls to the ground. The devas are outnumbered by this clone army and run to Shakti for help. Shakti then assumes the form of Kali and goes out to destroy Rakhtbeej.
There is some confusion about the actual meaning of what the three-faced, six-armed Buddha represents as there are two versions. In Buddhist iconography, some deities are depicted with three-faces and six-arms. They are known as the Asura or Ashura.
The other version seems to contradict what the asuras represent, however, and given asuras are sometimes depicted with four arms or numerous arms, it is difficult to say which version is correct – such is the confusion caused by the misinformation of Buddhist and Hindu teachings.
In some eastern mystery schools, it is believed that there are more stages of consciousness to attain, even after one becomes a Buddha. The qualification for becoming a Buddha, or reaching enlightenment is to recognise your mind perceives illusions and that everything is interconnected.
Once disciples come to this self-realisation and free themselves of the mental and physical bondage that swamp us in ignorance, you can set about achieving higher states of conscious awareness.
The three-faced, six-armed Buddha is said to be the fourth level of consciousness where the mind is highly developed and enlightened beings can acquire profound insights from other people without them even speaking a word to one another.
On the most basic level, the deva holding the Dharma wheel represents higher-consciousness, or if you like, God-Consciousness. It is this level of consciousness Buddha’s operates on a day-to-day footing after the discovery of Absolute Oneness of Mind or Samadhi.
Note how the right finger of the deva’s left hand is pointing towards the floor, whilst the eight-pronged dharma wheel is pointed upwards towards the sky. This represents the opposite equals of the macrocosm and the microcosm – as above, so below.
The flame-like crown above the deva’s head illustrates that she is illuminated, hence we can distinguish that she is a higher conscious deity and not an asura or nymph.
The same symbol is used for the three jewels of Buddhism of which the dharma is the most important doctrine – living by the eights principles of the Noble Eightfold Path.
One of the most prominent sculptures in Buddha Park is Shiva riding on the back of the three-headed elephant, Airavata.
Shiva is known as the destroyer of creation, ignorance and misery. In psychological terms, Shiva is the personification of self-realisation, the moments when you recognise old values no longer serve you.
When old values are destroyed, it makes way for new ideas to emerge; and this is why Shiva is one of the most venerated of Hindu gods.
Airavata, on the other hand, represents creation – or in this case new beginnings. The elephant symbolises strength, wisdom and patience.
In Hindu myth, Airavata is said to have six tusks shaped like Mount Meru where the gods decide – in other words their world, earth where seeds are planted for creation to spring into life.
If you are visiting Vientiane and want to get out of the city for an afternoon, Buddha Park is a decent option. To be honest there is not much else to do in the Laos capital other than visit temples and drink.
But The Devil card is not a tyrant of evil as the Catholic Church would have us believe. It is simply a reflection of the basic animal instincts within us. In Greek and Roman mythology this character attribute is represented by Pan, half-god, half-beast.
The symbolic meaning of 15, therefore, represents the duality of our base consciousness and our higher self.
If you look at the Rider-Waite tarot deck, The Devil holds chains that are strapped around the necks of a man and women. But look closely and you will see the chains are loose enough to slip over their heads.
When you have addictions or want material things you are tied to desire and remain in base consciousness. Only by striving towards a higher consciousness can you liberate yourself from the chains of life.
The Devil card in the Tarot tells the story of how The Fool reaches Satan’s grotto where people indulge in vice and impurity. The Fool senses the same base impulses within him but is intent on resisting.
The Devil encourages The Fool to let himself go and be natural, but The Fool points out he does not want to be a prisoner like all the others. The Devil says, “Look again,” and The Fool notices the “prisoners” are not enslaved at all but can free themselves from their chains.
In the Bible, St Paul lists fifteen impurities of man, and whilst they are natural instincts, the esoteric meaning is that impurities are inert in every man and woman, but it takes self-control to overcome pleasure and abandon.
The Devil in you allows you to enjoy yourself as represented by Pan in Greek mythology, but if we do not take control of unbridled desires such as addiction and revelry, you jeopardise reaching goals in your life and remain in base consciousness.
The 15, therefore, represents overcoming weakness and excessive indulgences such as an addiction to drugs, chocolate, food, sex or any other obsessive behaviour. It doesn’t necessarily mean you should avoid indulgence altogether providing you can control your urges do not allow yourself to become enslaved by excessive desire.
In the ancient world, the symbolic meaning of the number 17 was highly spiritual and represented love and peace – or sin and evil. If you fail to make the right decisions, as seen in number 16, you will continue to encounter obstacles.
In Hebrew, the seventeen is the number of sin. Pythagoreans also said the seventeen is when “The Devil triumphs over God.” The Devil is the six and God is the eight.
Sin means to be without a positive quality in an aspect of your consciousness or personality. It could be a limiting belief that holds you back, an attitude that ruins your relationships or negative opinions about something that makes you feel moody. These are just a few examples.
The Sufi alchemist, Jabir ibn Hayyan wrote everything in the world is the 17, the law of equilibrium. This also relates to the 17th card of the Tarot Deck – The Star – which represents resurrection, rebirth after death. It is not by coincidence that Osiris raises from the dead on the 17th day of the month of Athyr in Egyptian mythology.
Both the Christian and Muslim religions emphasise this point too. In Exodus, the Ten Commandments are explained in 17 verses. The Ten Commandments of course are the laws man must obey in his attributions towards God and his fellow men.
The symbolic meaning of the number 17 also features significantly in the New Testament, although its true meaning is hidden in the depths of the ocean – quite literally in fact. When the apostles could not catch any fish, Jesus suggests they cast the net on the right side of the boat. They did and caught 153 fish.
This makes more sense when you consider the number 17 is associated with the zodiacal sign of Capricorn, the goat. In Greek mythology, the God Pan was half goat representing the instinctive impulses of man.
The basic instincts of man is survival; emotional survival as well as physical. This is why we can find it hard not to give in to cravings. Survival is controlled by the ego and the ego only responds to programs in the subconscious.
In Matthew 25:33, it is written: “Sheep on the right..goats on the left”.
Sheep are traditionally known to follow one another without thinking for themselves. If the lead sheep walked over the edge of a cliff, the rest would follow. That actually happened in 2005. 1500 sheep in Turkey walked over the edge of the cliff. 400 sheep died.
In Islamic tradition, initiates use 17 words in their daily prayer and seventeen liturgical gestures. Chapter 17 verse 1 states “Most glorified is the One who summoned His servant (Muhammad) during the night…He is the Hearer and the Seer.
In Shi’ite mysticism, seventeen was the number of dead bought back to life, an idea the ancient Greeks also believed. Essentially, the myth refers to resurrection.
And so we find the same pattern repeating. Therefore, consider this. The 17 is the power of 1 and 7, new beginnings and divine power.

When you understand the meaning of numbers, you have a powerful tool you can use to make decisions with confidence, develop your personal qualities and improve your relationships.
Significantly, 17 reduces to eight in gematria. This system was initially used by the ancient Babylonians and in alchemical traditions who state the eight is to where “knowledge of the Great Secret is attained.”
Essentially the 21 is the manifestation resulting from thoughts, emotions and actions. At this point, the initiate must learn patience and cultivate trust in your intuition, or inner knowing.
We see this idea succinctly in the Hermetic number three, the sacred number of completion, albeit not the final conclusion. Three’s represent the union of the thoughts and emotions that ultimately prompt action.
The symbolic meaning of the divine seven is the acquisition of self-knowledge which is learned throughout a cycle. The number 21 is 7 times the vibration of the initial understanding. If you are projecting good energy, you will be manifesting good experiences, and poor experiences if your energy is low-quality.
In the Bible, the 21 is associated with resurrection – death and rebirth. It is the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new mission. We see the same idea reflected in modern-day traditions. When a person turns 21, they are said to have reached maturity and in the UK are given “the key of the door.”
On the one hand, the father and mother archetypes can be very supportive of your personal development, but they can also be limiting. The programs installed in your unconscious are nearly always governed by the mother and father imagos.
In the Bible, we see the 21 as a reflection of both good and bad. It is associated with sin and rebellion but is also a representation of God and the Temple. There are 21 chapters in the book of Judges, a significant title given the 21 is when judgement is finally handed down.
Sin relates to your weaknesses. These do not have to be directly related to the 7 deadly sins, but they are often the root of emotional problems. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t commit the 7 deadly sins either – you need to have fun and treat yourself. The lesson here is don’t indulge.
Rebellion is the next step. The conscious mind has to rebel against the programs of the ego and the super-ego which more often than not carry low-quality information installed by society. There is a misconception of the way we are supposed to be.
Life is a misconception because many of the thoughts you think throughout the day have been planted in your head by other people – not by yourself. Look within, understand your unconscious and upgrade your programs with inner knowledge. Truth. The True Self.
But what if the idea is a lie?
There are three voices in your head; ego, supereg0 and The Self. It is only the Self that you will find the essence of your True Nature. So which voice are you going to listen to?
When the 21 appears repeatedly in a short space of time, observe what is happening in your life and question whether you are projecting good energy or bad energy.

Investigations into quantum physics throughout the 20th Century determined that everything is energy, everything vibrates, and Motion is manifest in all things in the Universe.
Modern science has basically rediscovered the Hermetic Law of Gravitation (the principle of vibration) noted by the ancient Egyptians and early Greek philosophers:
“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” – The Kybalion
Some modern-day scientists recognise the phenomena of the mind are also modes of vibration that pick up resonating frequencies in the same way as radio waves.

Then there’s David Bohm’s model of the Universe which suggests that particles contain information about the entire Universe in a single cell. Could this be what religions mean by God being omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent?

The Laws of Thermodynamics explain the rest. In a nutshell, energy does not gain or lose substance, it transforms into something else.
Moreover, all these conditions are accompanied by a vibration which has a corresponding rate of frequency.
Which brings us onto the symbolic meaning of the number 21.
When you repeatedly see the number 21, it marks the next phase of life has begun following the coming together of universal energies you find in the number 20.
In other words, you now have to deal with the latest experience in your life.
Ultimately, you have brought together the cosmic vibrations from the “higher worlds” and they have become manifest in the “lower world” as your experience. You did this through your thoughts, emotions and actions.
How your experience will unfold in this next phase of life will again depend on your thoughts, emotions and actions.
You, therefore, have to take stock of what new things are happening in your life right now and determine whether you want to keep them or to change them.
It’s worth noting at this point that what you create in life is described in the Hermetic Law of Correspondence – one of the all-important 12 Universal Laws of Nature.

The Law of Correspondence is described in various Rosicrucian Texts and the referred Hermetic Book, The Kybalion which is said to reveal the secret knowledge passed down by the ancient sages of Egypt and Greece.
The Kybalion explains that everything in the Universe is connected across various planes of existence – much like the quantum entanglement theory of modern science.
To put this phenomenon into realistic terms, the Law of Correspondence dictates that the energy you transform in your inner world is subsequently reflected in the outer world; the thoughts we hold in the conscious mind are stored in the subconscious and the thoughts we store in the subconscious are recalled to the conscious mind.

The transference of energy arising from thoughts impacts your emotions and ultimately your actions. It is often through action that you create your experience of life.
Furthermore, the subconscious mind does not distinguish between that which is imagined and that which is a real experience. Energy transforms and recreates whatever it is you focus on or assert that you can, and will do something.
With the right knowledge, you can adopt new actions and raise your higher mental state. In doing so, you connect with vibrations that resonate at a higher frequency and which correspond with your own changed mental state.
When you see numbers and symbols, they are an indication of the actions you must take or the “right thought” you have to adopt. What you have to change maybe something like a belief system or attitude that ultimately prompts certain behaviours in you.
The Law of Correspondence teaches you to notice and acknowledge your imperfections. Your successes too – don’t forget those. When something goes well in your life, you want to continue performing the right things.
If the number 21 keeps appearing in your life right now, you need to call for optimism, courage, creative expression and inspiration.
If you feel pessimistic or negative towards something, you will smother inspiration and not be able to generate the creative expression you need to move forward with the next phase of life.
The key to personal happiness, freedom and peace of mind is to change your thoughts! By focusing exclusively on what it is that we truly desire, and by eliminating all thoughts of what we don’t want, we can begin to shape, mould and build our lives to our own specifications!

Christian traditions reflect the positive aspects of the number 21 as a representation of God and the Temple.
It should be noted that God is a symbolic code for consciousness and the Laws of the Universe. The Temple is symbolic of the body. What you have to understand is how universal laws affect the body.
Sins are code for mistakes and the rebellion reference is being judged from a moralistic viewpoint. It is more appropriate to view rebellion as decisive action to change sinful habits and adopt right thought, right action and right feeling.
Every step you take in your physical life impacts your personal growth. When you don’t learn the lessons you need to evolve, you keep experiencing the same bad luck – which will happen when you see 10’s and 20’s.
In Exodus, the Israelites committed 21 acts of rebellion to escape the bondage of the Egyptians.
Sigmund Freud’s model of the mind explains the overinflated ego takes over the conscious mind and is prompted by programs stored in the subconscious.
This is why human beings are creatures of habit and find it difficult to break away from the norms you are comfortable with – even when you know they are toxic. Doing so requires courage, optimism and inspiration.
Exodus also explains that God casts down his judgement on the Egyptians on the 21st day in the month of Nisan by drowning Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea.
In the Jewish calendar, Nisan represents the redemption of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
The exoteric meaning of the crossing of the Red Sea represents obstacles that appear in life. In hermetic teaching, the sea represents the body, and Bible scholars also relate the sea to “a collection of memory-knowledge.”
When you apply this to the electro-biological process of the body and the psyche, the biggest obstacles you face are the subconscious programs that prompt thoughts and actions that do not serve you – your collection of memories and the suppressed emotions that come with past experiences.
The 21st day in the month of Nisan falls on the seventh day of the Judaeo-Christian tradition. The festival is held in the Spring – a time of renewal – and three feasts are observed.
The feasts of Nisan are said to give you an opportunity to demonstrate obedience and provide protection. In other words, obey the higher aspect of your conscious nature that wants you to thrive and you will continue to vibrate at higher frequencies that connect you with the knowledge you need to know.
The number 21 is also associated with compassion. And compassion holds the key to what you manifest. Compassion is also associated with the female principle, the Mother Goddess, which is also associated with the number 7.
The number 21 also features in the Equinox festivals in autumn, known as the Feast of Tabernacles. Here the focus is to show gratitude and love. When these qualities are recognised in the inner world, they are reflected in the outer world.
The seventh Feast of the Tabernacles which is taken on the 21st of October is known as Sukkot and represents “the time of restored fellowship with the Lord”. Lord is ancient code for Law as in Universal Laws.
Therefore, it is a time for observing your “sins” (mistakes/bad luck) and rebelling against the subconscious programs that prompt you to take wrong actions.
This is explained in Revelation 20 which is associated with the Feast of the Tabernacles in Jewish culture:
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” – Revelation 20:4-10
Satan represents “sins” or Freud’s id. It is the dark passenger which is a reflection of your ego, the aspect of your nature that has strayed from the True Self and commits errors. It is the antithesis of Yahweh, the anti-Christ. Recognising the Devil within guides you to individuation.
In Gematria, 21 is equal to the number three; 2+1=3. In Hermetic traditions, the three represent the triangle of manifestation which is the coming together of Universal energies in relation to your thoughts, emotions and actions.
Look within, observe repetitive thoughts and be aware of the synchronicity of symbols. When you see a repetition of the 21 or the three, it is a time to carefully plan your actions. Allow yourself to be guided by your higher intelligence.

It’s terms like “magical” in which you have to be careful when interpreting the meaning of symbols. The official meaning of symbols handed down by people in the know – and then promulgated by the profane – are misleading.
For example, in exoteric symbolism, the five is a number associated with mankind. The five-pointed star is said to represent the head and limbs of a human being. It is also associated with the five senses, or even five fingers on each hand and five fingers on each foot.
This information is highly misleading. I’ll show you why.
The number five is associated with the planet Mercury, and thus also the god Mercury in Roman mythology. As discussed in the symbolic meaning of the number one, Mercury is related to the Greek God Hermes.
Hermes, the god Mercury and the planet Mercury are all associated with communication. Again, this is misleading. If you don’t know that symbolism relates to self-knowledge – represented by the illuminating qualities of the sun – you would think Mercury solely represents communication with others.
Whilst Mercury can relate to communication with others, if you see the summer five, the more likely scenario is that you need to communicate with yourself.
In tarot, an ancient tradition that incorporates hermetic symbols, fives are indicative of a problem but also offers solutions. Hermes is a problem-solver (although also a trickster) that can help guide you to self-knowledge.
In Numbers, Their Occult Powers and Mystic Virtues, William Wynn Westcott tell us: “Mercury was often represented as a Dog, following a Sun Man.” In the Fool card of the Rider-Waite tarot deck, a card associated with Mercury, a dog is seen snapping at the heels of a wanderer.
Dogs can also be your guide and protector, but they can also lead you astray – like the trickster archetype. This is why the planet Mercury is associated with the Gemini zodiac sign – the twins – and is associated with needing to shift perspective.
In alchemy, mercury is associated with thoughts. The number five is also a bridge between 0-4 and 5-9. And this is where we get the biggest clue to the meaning of the number five.
Five of the 10 commandments teach us about our relationship with “God” (consciousness), whilst the last five teach us of the laws of nature – our true selves and how we should behave towards others and ourselves.
The deeper spiritual meaning of five, therefore, represents the need to acquire inner wisdom. Man must look within himself. This is the true meaning of Leonardo di Vinci’s Vitruvian Man.

The spiritual meaning of five features predominantly in Christian churches as a 5-pointed star. This is actually a representation of the pentacle, or as it is more widely known, the pentagram.
An upturned pentagram, of course, is associated with Devil worship – also incorrectly identified as occultism – and thus considered an evil symbol.
This idea actually comes from the portrayal of Baphomet in his role as the dark side of human nature.
Whereas this is true, the pentagram has another side, which as seen in Christian churched points upwards.
The upward-facing point represents the spirit and is a symbol of positive energy. It is only when the point is at a downward trajectory as seen in dark magic circles, that the energy is negative.
The other four points represent the four elements, the fifth element being a connection with the creator. Each point also recognises five of the seven virtues mankind should adopt towards one another to live in harmony; generosity, fellowship, purity, courtesy and mercy.
In Hindu symbolism, the five triangles that make up the five points are collectively called the jnanendriyas – knowledge, senses, organs, breathing exercises, and pure consciousness.
Like we see in the Christian tradition, the pentacle in Hindu countries also identifies with four principles that when followed enable the initiate to connect with his true self – to bring about the fifth element of enlightenment.
The pentacle is also associated with the Celts which is another reason people have been led to believe that paganism was a form of Devil worship. It wasn’t, pagans paid respect to nature – included the True Nature of mankind; the ability to transcend our animal instincts.
If fives keep appearing in your life, it’s a symbol guiding you towards self-knowledge. Look within and listen to your inner wisdom.
There are plenty of mystical schools and organised religions that show you how to reach the most logical solutions you need in life.
However, the best solutions are always found in symbols. Understand the esoteric meaning of symbols and you have a powerful tool that will help you reached decisions with confidence.
From an exoteric viewpoint, the symbolic meaning of the four represents stability, the body, and the illusion of time – the 4th dimension. In the form of a square, the number four represents earth.
The scared number 4 is typically epitomised in squares together with the cross. It is often attached to references of the four cardinal points, the four elements, four quarters of the earth, four seasons and the four winds from which the one spirit is said to originate.
There are also four emotional states of the body: physical, emotional, sensation and spiritual; four states of matter: gas, liquid, solid and plasma, and four forces of nature that bind matter together; strong, weak, gravity and magnetic electricity.
The eminent psychoanalyst Carl Jung linked the Christian quaternity with the four cognitive functions; thoughts, feelings, sensations and intuition.
All the above are exoteric meanings of the number four. Exoteric means “intended for or likely to be understood by the general public.”
In other words, the exoteric meaning given for symbols is only a fraction of the jigsaw and can be misleading. To see the bigger picture you need to collect all the pieces of the jigsaw.
In religion, the four is identified with creation – solid foundations, earth etc. From a psychological point of view, the human psyche is the cornerstone required to manifest things in your life.

It is said in Christianity that there are four pillars that support heaven. There is a significant focus on the need for work and productivity. It is not a coincidence that you often find four pillars outside the entrance of government and civic buildings – the place of authority, which in mankind, is the conscious mind.
The subconscious is the ego and symbolised as the demi-god or the Devil, depending on whether your programs are a mixture of good and evil, or mostly evil. The Gnostics called the ego the demi-urge – the demon that thinks it’s god.
In other eastern philosophies such as Buddhism, the principle of four represent compassion, affection, love and impartiality.
Hindus also identify the four inner senses of the human psyche; mind (manas), intellect (buddhi), differentiating memories (chitta), and self-awareness (ahankara).
So here is a clue to the esoteric meaning; thoughts become things.
It is widely regarded in today’s frontier science that the energy of thought has the potential to manifest as matter. Although science has not found the unequivocal answer to the Grand Unification question, they are getting closer.

The number four is a key indicator that reveals the foundation of your ultimate goal. It is a glimpse of your future. This is why Pythagoras called the four the second most important number after the decad.
The decad is the number ten and represents the ned of one cycle of consciousness and the beginning of a new cycle. When you see tens, as opposed to 11s, you still have a lesson to learn.
When you see the number four consistently revealing its energy, it is the first glimpse of your future reality – when the cycle gets to the 10 or 11. So when you see fours, observe what is happening in your life at that moment.
If life is good, keep doing what you’re doing. If it’s not so good, I recommend doing some inner work to try and determine which missing aspect of your consciousness is trying to make itself known to the conscious mind. Observe your archetypal energies.
and you will have more control over the energy you transform.
This sometimes means you have to develop the mental strength to overcome the thoughts and actions of your habitual mind.
However, look out for three fours. When you see the repetition of 444 you have nothing to fear. In my experience, 444 appears to confirm an experience you have or information you receive can be trusted as the Truth.
